Busy Bee

The October night sends shivers down their spines, but she buzzes around the crowded streets, eager to see everything, that busy bee. Door after door, the unintelligible words "trick or treat” spill from her artificially green-stained lips while her blue eyes take in the costumed kids walking down the leaved sidewalks. Before the moon has risen to its highest, her eyelids begin to droop, and her fake wings tilt to one side like her nodding head. A cool breeze pulls back her hood as she’s taken into the strong arms of her father, and she’s carried back to their car. The first Halloween for that busy bee.
